Carpet shampoo/cleaner recs

Please can anyone recommend a really good carpet cleaner/shampoo for 'spot' cleaning?

I have a cat who can puke to order & cream carpets! I've been using Vanish foam but don't rate it as much as the Sainsbury's own brand one - which I can no longer get, grrr.

Vanish foam is rubbish. Depending on the type of carpet you could use diluted washing powder. If you can get hold of rotabrite that's brilliant, or seltec, but I'm not sure if they're available to the general public or if you have to be a business

Most big supermarkets hire out rugdoctor carpet cleaners , it's ages since I have hired one but I do remember thinking the cost was very reasonable and they are very easy to use.

Yeah, maybe it needs something heavy duty 😀 I've just tried diluted soap powder, will see what that looks like when it dries.
