Hello, thinking of going up on the train to Folkestone from Stratford International with my 3 year old son today (45 minute train).

What is there to see and do please?

The Fun Zone in Lower Leas Coastal Park has the largest free access adventure play area in the south east with rocking boats, climbing walls, zip lines, slides, plus enclosed toddler construction area with sand diggers and a shipwreck play structure. There’s a cafe too. Between morning and early evening at weekends and in the summer, theres a funicular lift that connects the Leas to the car park east of the coastal park. However, it is dependent on volunteers for operation and maintenance so not always working.

Walk down the Old High Street to the Harbour area. The fountains aren't working at the moment but you can get to Sunny Sands beach - just be aware that this beach is tidal and will be at high tide (and completely covered) at about 3pm. There are shingle beaches round near the ugly ship hotel (Burstin) and the coastal park.

The funicular is out of action indefinitely so don't rely on that!
