How do I get iPhone to stop changing my word?

Beyond autocorrect.

Autocorrect is fine. If I misspell something then it's great especially as I have dyslexia and struggle with spelling.
However it changes normal words that are correct for something else and it makes me look thick.

For example I just wrote " I had to give up tap dance."
And it changed it to "I had to give up two dance."

It also changes does to doesn't which can change a whole opinion on AIBU!

If I switch off autocorrect then it stops it all.

iPhone never used to do this. It's a feature I've noticed for about a year or so and I've enough!

In the General, Keyboard, setting,
You can have auto correct off, so it won't change your word, but you can have 'spell correct' on, would that solve it or am I misunderstanding?
The incorrect words are then red highlighted and you tap and get correct spelling.

Press backspace to delete the space and it should automatically change it back to the word you actually wrote.
