Hygiene Rating 2?

For context, I have issues with food preparation/cleanliness. I just got home from a night out and before getting the taxi bought some noodles from a Chinese takeaway with friends. I'm now home and had already eaten about 3 mouthfuls of some noodles before checking the hygiene rating (which I always check) and it's a 2. I don't usually eat at anywhere below a 4. Googling tells me that in 2017 the takeaway was temporarily shut down because of a rat infestation. I'm now freaking out.

I've put the rest of the noodles in the fridge for my flat mate to eat - but should I throw them out? Would you eat from somewhere with such a low hygiene rating?? I hate wasting food but could not eat it, feel physically sick now and can't sleep but I'm never sure whether I'm overreacting or not with this sort of thing

We wouldn’t eat from a two star rating.

I wouldn't even check so yeah, I probably would unwillingly. Ignorance is bliss and all that

After having worked in places with 5's no chance would I eat in a 2 🤢 even 5's don't have to be super clean so I can't imagine how bad a 2 is or how lazy the people cooking the food are!

Love it! Poison the flatmate instead Grin

Seriously though i wouldn't eat from somewhere that has literally just scraped through. It must be quite bad to have a low rating.

Ask your flatmate. I'd be gutted if you threw it away and didn't leave me some!

KatherineJaneway · 22/06/2019 07:04

I'd chuck it out.

Walking home the other day I saw a restaurant advertise itself as a 3 on the hygiene rating. I just thought to myself, I'm never ordering from there!
