Strangest gig merchandise?

I love a band t-shirt so always go and check out what's on offer. Usual suspects - t-shirts, hoodies, badges, maybe a cap or tote bag.
I won't name the band or venue but this week I came across socks! Who buys socks at a gig?!

Any other weird merch that you have come across?

Nirvana, fake foetus in a jar of blue jelly 🤷‍♀️

Rammstein released a set of dildos all modeled on their own penises

Evil Scarecrow sold beach towels with a giant crab on them (crabulon! Crabulon! Crabulon!).

mysteryfairy · 22/06/2019 14:25

Manchester band inspiral carpets have a song This is how it feels....(to be lonely, this is how it feels to be small).

They did baby and child T-shirts with 'This is how it feels to be small' a few years ago which I thought were fab. I've recently been trying to get hold of another one in fact but no luck tracking one down.

PineappleSeahorse · 22/06/2019 14:36

The dildos weren't actually modelled on their own penises. That's just a rumour. Rammstein said they considered it but they didn't have time.

PineappleSeahorse · 22/06/2019 14:37

The Rammstein shop also have almost anything that you could dream of, including a toaster.

ipswichwitch · 22/06/2019 17:48

I need a Rammstein toaster in my life!

PineappleSeahorse · 22/06/2019 17:49

I'm very tempted to get one too. Blush

ipswichwitch · 22/06/2019 17:50

I feel it would be a great talking point in my kitchen

MonstranceClock · 22/06/2019 17:51

I just want rammstein everything. Very upset their dildo's aren't modeled on themselves though.

ipswichwitch · 22/06/2019 17:52

It should make the toast pop out with a toasted band logo on each slice or something. Rather like that Jesus face on someone’s toast that got put all over the internet.

PineappleSeahorse · 22/06/2019 17:53

It does exactly that.

starzig · 22/06/2019 17:55

A festival I go to always has lots of pants from bands
I have band pants

ipswichwitch · 22/06/2019 18:34

Omg that’s it I’m getting one! Everyone should have logoed toast of a morning

EggysMom · 22/06/2019 18:46

At a gig this week, OP? Don't tell me they make Metallica socks, I'll wish that I'd have gone!

MadSweeney · 22/06/2019 18:53

Metallica had 'Master of Parents' kids shirts this week. Didn't see any socks too busy spending £100 on other shit but I know you can buy them.

icebearforpresident · 22/06/2019 19:01

Foo Fighter were selling giant blankets at their gigs last year. Lovely but not the most practical for holding on to at a stadium gig for hours on end.

They were also selling pint glasses but you couldn’t take them in to the stadium!

MadSweeney · 22/06/2019 19:04

Icebear Metallica had these cups, thick plastic so could be taken in. Great souvenir as well. Worked out about £2 a cup. £7 for your first pint, then around a fiver for every refill when you returned the cup.

Not a gig but a club I went to in Ibiza were selling fans (the sort Spanish ladies traditionally use to wave to cool themselves down).

I bought one & it was so hot out there it came in handy!

36degrees · 22/06/2019 19:13

I had an Everything Must Go mug from the first time the Manics toured the album. And I have a PBS tea towel. Some good taste on this thread. I also have a Dear Catastrophe Waitress apron which one of Belle & Sebastian gave me years ago at a pub quiz.

TheFaerieQueene · 22/06/2019 19:16

I saw the Manics last night at Wembley, supporting Bon Jovi (my DSis birthday treat😉) and didn’t spot a mug. They were bloody marvellous though.

RubertRoo · 22/06/2019 19:19

Korn used to sell yo-yo's with their logo on. That was an odd one but yo-yo's were a craze when I saw them

PineappleSeahorse · 22/06/2019 19:22

Rammstein have those cups too. I don't drink alcohol but I'll be buying a few for my collection. I have some I bought on the website, They're a nice inexpensive piece of merch.
