Is nobody concerned that the Metropolitan Police tried to deny they attended the flat of Boris Johnson & Carrie Symonds.

They said it never happened until the guardian presented them with an incident reference and Police vehicle markings?

That needs investigation in itself

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 21/06/2019 21:02

Where did they say that, Helena?

Passthecherrycoke · 21/06/2019 21:05

Tbf the incident didn’t happen very long ago, maybe it’s just a case that the police records take a bit of time to be updated

Passthecherrycoke · 21/06/2019 21:06

Also surprised the police confirm thing like this you’d imagine it would be against data protection really wouldn’t you

Kez200 · 21/06/2019 21:33

I wouldnt expect the Police to say anything tbh. They are there to do a job not pander to nosy people.

Soola · 21/06/2019 21:36

Oh well at least the staff at the Guardian will be sobbing into their bedtime milk at having failed to get Boris arrested.

sergeilavrov · 21/06/2019 21:40

People are so distracted by the drama around the splintering Labour party that they've failed to recognise precisely the same thing happening to the Conservatives. The transition under Cameron and the coalition has created a significant number of young, liberal centrist members who find Johnson and his ilk reprehensible. The issue is that there are still a lot of older, right wing 'traditional' members, many of whom won't care in the slightest about Carrie Symonds.

Isatis · 21/06/2019 21:45

How predictable! The stop Boris campaign begins!

You predicted Boris would act like this, Soola? How very perspicacious of you.

winewolfhowls · 21/06/2019 21:49

Am I the only person to read this story and think, fuck me, a million pound house and you can hear the neighbours that clearly through the walls?! I'd be straight on rightmove.

Isatis · 21/06/2019 21:51

It seems a bit suspicious to me? the markings of the police vehicles were known and word for word recordings that basically say "do not vote for this man"

If I lived near a politician who may be about to be PM and a load of police cars turned up, I suspect I might well be tempted to take a photo.

As for the recordings, we're all told that if we hear evidence of domestic violence we should be recording it.

Whosorrynow · 21/06/2019 22:00

I agree, I wouldn't expect millionaires to have to suffer the indignities of paper thin walls

Calloway · 21/06/2019 22:03

It looks like a flat in a converted Victorian home. Those kinds of flats can have a lot of sound leakage.

TemporaryPermanent · 21/06/2019 22:03

Can't believe Boris moved in with his girlfriend so quickly.

Can't believe the police confirmed the story to anyone.

I'm feeling the way I felt when May made Boris foreign secretary. A kind of grubby ashamed rage that in this country, somebody qualified - at a stretch - for being a popular barman without unsupervised access to the till, moves from lucrative media job to top political posts leaving a trail of wreckage behind him. Apparently without consequences.

Squiff70 · 21/06/2019 22:06

Must be true if it's in the Daily Fail. The really worrying thing here is that people believe what they read in this daily rag. Is there an eye-roling smilie?

millymae · 21/06/2019 22:07

Whilst I have some sympathy for Mr Johnson’s partner in all of this, I have none for him, dirty tricks or not.
Had he been the next door neighbour and it suited his needs to record something that reflected badly on someone who could thwart his political ambition don’t try and tell me that he wouldn’t have recorded it and then got one of his cronies to leak it out of the back door.

tenlittlecygnets · 21/06/2019 22:09

Squid, it’s in the Guardian and Independent too. It’s true.

KennDodd · 21/06/2019 22:13

One the BBC and confirmed by the police.

Nanna50 · 21/06/2019 22:20

Not feeling much sympathy for CS tbh - ex Tory spin doctor living with married BJ. Lie down with dogs...

I reported a domestic incident next door to me recently (no politicians) and yes they were very quick and thorough. A car and a van spent almost an hour to and from the house. So I'm not surprised by this bit.

longwayoff · 21/06/2019 22:42

Oh dear, a rift in the lute, how sad. Perhaps Mrs Gove can hand out some advice in her newspaper column? She held quite firm opinions about Boris once and may have added to them after recent events.

GoFiguire · 22/06/2019 03:16

Three police cars = 1 for him, 1 for her and 1 for his ego.

RiversDisguise · 22/06/2019 03:25

All sounds a bit Eastenders.

FionasWineShow · 22/06/2019 03:29

I think it's hilarious. Not for her of course, though I have limited sympathy for anyone who chooses to have sex with Boris.

It's absolutely hilarious about him. Stay classy Boz, stay classy.
