Quick question! Will foodbanks (eg Sainsbury's one) accept fridge items like chilled pizza?

NOT frozen (obv) but chilled Pizza Express shop-bought ones?

Or is it no good to take in anything that needs refrigeration?

No, they only take dried goods, tinned goods etc

If you think about it the answer should be obvious!

Thanks isabelle. I'll make absolutely certain I never ask a stupid question on here again MayDay

It would greatly increase costs if donated food had to be kept refrigerated. It then goes off to be distributed - often to a church hall to be sorted by volunteers, again no refrigeration. And then taken home by someone, possibly not in a car! It’s great to do a good deed but it’s a bit “let them eat cake”!

The foodbank that I run doesn't. We have no refrigeration facilities. It's a very kind thought, though.
