Dhukaan - Is this website a scam?

Does anyone have any knowledge of a website called Dhukaan? They sell personalised gifts.
I placed an order over a week ago and paid for express 1 day delivery but haven’t received anything. I have not been sent any sort of confirmation email and they don’t reply to my online query forms. No telephone number so there is no way of contacting them it seems - they are on Twitter but have 4 followers?!
I’ve been scammed haven’t I? Angry

Have you a website address for them. I can't find them online.

LuxuryWoman2018 · 21/06/2019 08:35

They have a Facebook page, have you tried messaging them there?

TooOldForThisWhoCares · 21/06/2019 08:41

The website is showing as "not secure" on my phone and not to enter any card details etc. It's also one of the dodgiest/crappiest looking websites I've seen for a while. Not looking good OP, sorry.

TheInvestigator · 21/06/2019 08:42

On the website, I had a look at one item. It says £3.99 for 1 day delivery, but underneath it says the product has a 5 day lead time. So the 1 day delivery would apply once the product is actually made.

If it’s not a scam, it appears to be a selection of individual designer. Similar to notonthehighstreet but they say they’ve only just launched. However, the web address doesn’t have a padlock so it’s not even a secure site. It could go either way!
Not responding to your messages could be because it’s a scam, or could be because they are new and just havn’t got all that sorted out? But I’m leaning toward scam.

BertieBotts · 21/06/2019 08:59

How did you originally find them? How have you paid? If credit card or paypal you might be in luck for protection. I would wait the week though as explained by TheInvestigator. If they are custom products, they aren't going to have a stock of them ready to ship out as soon as you order.

Norton doesn't show anything

Norton doesn't show anything

It says it hasn't even been tested though

PoptartPoptart · 21/06/2019 10:01

I just found them via a google search for the item I was after.
I haven’t got Facebook but DH has, so I might get him to try to contact them later.
It’s the fact I didn’t receive any sort of confirmation email and the fact I can’t contact them that’s making me suspicious, plus they have only a handful of Instagram and Twitter followers. And of course I now realise that their website isn’t even secure!
It was a gift for my dad’s 70th birthday too, I’m gutted.
Think I might have been had... so annoyed at myself Angry

I paid by credit card, so maybe I’ll contact them.

The returns and refunds section is, umm, interesting 😂😂😂.

Returns & Refunds
Each shop is responsible for their returns policy, however Dhukaan, have set the healthy chocolate nut balls and the standard we expect from our sellers.
For products that are not personalised, you have 28 days to notify the enter your ingredients and the seller if you want to cancel the what is cordyceps used for and the order or exchange the recipe ingredient and the item. The cancellation period will expire 28 days from the protein energy balls and the day on which you receive the paleo protein balls coconut and the goods you have ordered.

TheInvestigator · 21/06/2019 18:34

Oh no! I didn't bother to check that; but yeah... that's not good! Sorry OP; you'd best get onto your card provider.

MrsBobBlackadder · 21/06/2019 18:38

That refunds and returns section is literally a load of (peanut butter chia) balls Grin

Kyogre · 21/06/2019 19:04

I copy and pasted. They aren't my typos

thatone · 21/06/2019 19:07

See if they are reviewed on Trustpilot.

Kez200 · 21/06/2019 19:08

Omg! The safe and secure page is so wacky crazy

dhukaan.co.uk/safe-secure/

Looks well dodgy

PolkadotLollipop · 21/06/2019 19:13

‘Fictitious olive oil?!

BertieBotts · 21/06/2019 19:16

WTF?

OP next time you google something if you haven't heard of the shop please check it through TrustPilot first!!

BertieBotts · 21/06/2019 19:20

Oh I think I know what's happened actually, looking at that safe and secure page - it's not a website written by humans at all, it's been written by a bot, a computer program. There is a particular style to the (nonsensical) phrasing. That's probably how they ended up so high on google results as well, because bots can "read" the patterns much more easily so they optimise the site specifically to make it appear higher.

So yes, almost guaranteed it's a scam. Contact your credit card company and see if they can stop or reverse the payment.

BertieBotts · 21/06/2019 19:27

You can at least laugh at the random tosh that is their "blog" - WTF?

Running regarding Empty: The newest and ‘Improved’ School Break

I did previously love education lunches. To a great extent, I did! The school have a main denture called Soaring Saucer. ?t had been a piece of pig, topped which has a scoop with mashed taters, and smother in a frothy cheese hot sauce recipe. Delicious.

Along with where you sat was in the same way important as the things you were served. We all know the friends’ selections. Sit through Jane upon PBJ day time because she would trade her sandwich on your carrot sticks and just as a dip. Or Bobby would swap tater tots for fowl nuggets.

Today? You can’t pay me personally money to enjoy school lunch break.

...Actually on second thoughts, maybe it is just a really bad literal translation from Chinese or something?

CircleofWillis · 21/06/2019 19:29

Looks like a google translate jobby rather than bot-speak.

CottonSock · 21/06/2019 19:30

An olive oil bot... I've never seen a site that bad

Kyogre · 21/06/2019 20:11

Or Bobby would swap tater tots for fowl nuggets

Fowl nuggets!!! 🤣😂😅

Kyogre · 21/06/2019 20:34

OP, you could report the website to action fraud. Don’t suppose it will do any good but it only takes a few mins.

Also, I don’t know if you need to or not but you might want to consider canceling your credit card?
