Does it have a brand name on it? If so you could search online to find the instruction book.

It most likely won't be an age, but a weight. Factor in how heavy a child you can carry!

We had the deuter one. Their website says:
The Deuter child carriers are designed for kids that can sit up independently (usually at around six months old – although this can, of course,
The maximum weight (child plus gear) is limited to 48 lbs (22 kg). Our child carriers have been JPMA certified to this capacity and approved according to US standards.
Because children grow differently, we make no height or maximum age specifications. However, the maximum weight capacity should not be exceeded

rule of thumb was 6m when I had one like that, but agree look at the website or instruction manual.

I used one until the DC were too heavy for me to carry anymore. DS was 2.5, I stopped when I was pg with DD(. With DD I carried her until she was a bit olde, 3 is, but both my dc are very tall. Smaller children woukdfyy get longer out of it.
