Chicken pox in adults - how long?

DH has chicken pox. He had flu like symptoms which started Friday and spots started appearing Saturday. He had lots more spots appearing until Tuesday morning. He is now less itchy and lots are starting to fill with fluid. A few are scabbing over. How long is he likely to remain contagious and how long will he look very spotty/feel unwell? I have read NHS advice about 5 days for them to crust over but I don't know if that is the same in adults. I am trying to work out if he will be OK for plans next week Tue and Wed. TIA

Oh no OP that sounds grim. Your poor DH. Just bumping this for you.
