Healthy non-egg breakfasts

I've always struggled to have a healthy breakfast as I don't eat eggs. I'm not allergic, I just cannot stand the taste or smell. Whenever I look at healthy meal plans, they always include eggs for breakfast.

Any other ideas that aren't high in sugar or carbs?

porridge or overnight oats with yoghurt/quark and berries?

wowfudge · 20/06/2019 07:41

Full fat natural yoghurt with chopped apple and a sprinkling of cinnamon?

Add a few walnut pieces or flaked almonds too.

Plain yoghurt with fresh fruit

Pancakes can be done with a healthy filling (no Nutella!) and are pretty good for you - you won't notice the egg once it's in there. You can put almost anything in a pancake...

An avocado with hummus

Pan fried mushrooms on toast topped with feta squeeze of lemon and pepper. Side of grilled tomato and wilted spinach

These suggestions are all delish sounding.

But edge your thread title reminds me of Carolyn in series 2 of killing eve:

I never eat breakfast. So many eggs. Why? Who decided?

So funny.

BrexitBingoGenerator I've been meaning to watch Killing Eve - now it's a must Grin

Thanks all these are really good ideas so far.

Tub of cottage cheese - Longley Farm, Lidl or Waitrose best as higher fat.

I eat lots of eggs because I like them. Porridge doesn't fill me up at all and leaves me starving mid morning.

Toast-
Beans
Cheese
Pilchards
Fried mushrooms
Meat paste & very thin sliced onion ( don't knock it till you have tried it )
Don't fancy toast ? Ok
Porridge with
Berries ( Tescos frozen ones are great value )
Honey

Or yoghurt with
Berries
banana
Oats
Honey

Avocados on toast. Or tomatoes cooked in a pan for a bit with a little bit of butter and some herbs are very nice.

Placemarking as am desperate for ideas...

MysweetAudrina · 20/06/2019 10:34

I always have yogurt, berries and some nutty granola.

Iamblossom · 20/06/2019 10:35

I always have 0% Fage yoghurt with blueberries and seeds. Very filling and delicious.

stucknoue · 20/06/2019 10:38

I like mackerel fillets, leftovers from the night before or avocado/mushrooms on toast

On the continent it is common to include meat or fish in breakfasts. So a chicken bap would not be out of place.

What about sugar free rice pudding with fruit added? I make it occasionally with 100g rice, 1 litre of skimmed or almond milk, a tbsp splenda and a sprinkling of nutmeg on top. (With almond milk that even counts as a SlimmingWorld breakfast, not that I'm a member).

My daughter makes a Saturday breakfast in a frying pan with pulses, tomatoes ( or tinned, or passata) , green leafy veg and a little cheese.

Blender pancakes? 1 cup oats, 6tbsp milk and a banana whizzed up then fried in coconut oil. Add berries and fruit and there you go! Great for kids too
