They are six days past use by date, sealed and refrigerated. I usually always eat food past its sell by date if smells and looks ok but not sure how safe these would be? They look and smell completely fine, I'm being dim but there isn't actually any rice component in them is there??

They will be fine as long as they are still sealed .

Been nosey now what you having with it ?

Towelsareblue · 19/06/2019 19:32

Thank you that's what I hoped! I am putting green beans, mushrooms, broccoli, and a pepper with a little bit of chicken and black bean sauce Smile

Oooh and some asparagus and Pak Choi. Very healthy, but I've eaten nothing but cheese, chocolate and eclairs all day so need to get some balance in!

??? No rice component? What are your RICE noodles made of? They'll be fine to eat, don't worry.

Towelsareblue · 20/06/2019 10:29

I ate them they were fine. I've thrown the packet away now, studied the ingredients - they don't look, taste or sound like rice - that's why i was asking re the rice component? Is it just a name given to that style of noodle as doesn't mention actual rice in the ingredients?

But, someone else please help, what on earth are they made from? Do you mean shirataki noodles which are made from yam?

Towelsareblue · 20/06/2019 11:07

They are made with rice flour see here

Teddybear45 · 20/06/2019 11:09

Rice noodles are made from rice flour, and so the usual rules about rice don’t apply. Rice flour and things made from rice flour last ages yet many expiry dates don’t take that into account.

Towelsareblue · 20/06/2019 11:14

Yes that was my confusion! It says rice flour and I did assume that would be different to usual rice rules, thank you for clarification Smile
