Setting Ipad screen time

SmellsLikeAdultSpirit · 19/06/2019 13:49

I set the ipad to turn off at a certain time but DC was using it and on an app
At the time it should have turned off it asked if they wanted to ignore the time limit. Of course DC said yes so it let them stay on
They couldn't move to different apps but could stay on that one
That means the screen time control is useless. DC has SN so this is a way to set limits without risking meltdown.
Am I doing something wrong or is this how it is

Hopeful bump

You have to go to screen time in settings and set password otherwise there is no way to block or unblock each app.

You can use Guided Access to set a time limit for one app.

I set screen time in settings and put a passcode on it but, because she was on the app, it didn't shut it down at the time

If you’ve all got apple devices you can set up a family group and then control screen time and access from your phone. You can also set parental controls and witness what they’ve been up to.
