I visited for the first time today - what a fascinating shop; totally removed from a corporate venture like Waterstones, vast yet charming.

I’d heartily recommend it.

Yes, I went there when I was on holiday a few years ago.

I think it was there that the original wartime "keep calm and carry on" poster was discovered.

Brilliant shop. Whenever I go in there I come out with armfuls of books I didn't even know existed beforehand but which it turned out I absolutely definitely needed.

Yep. We're in the north east and whenever we go up that way we call in. I love it.

My heart resides in Barters Books ❤️

We go every year on our annual pilgrimage to Edinburgh. I am utterly in love with it! So much so that we actually got married just down the road, despite living 5 hours away, and I spent the day before my wedding in there reading Grin

Yes! When I was younger it was the standard day out for me and my dad. Such an incredible place, I haven't been for years.

NoToast · 18/06/2019 19:51

Haven't been for 10 years or more, I really must get back. Wonderful place but cost me a fortune!
