I'm so impressed with myself. Made the Mickey/Minnie one a few weeks ago, and made the Toy Story one today. The Mickey was an old duvet cover, but I bought the Toy Story duvet cover this morning from Primark. It's far cheaper than buying fabric.

There's a wiki for vintage sewing patterns which are out of copyright, I think this is the right thread to post the link Smile

These are beautiful - and look great on. So cool with the shoes!!!

Hope its ok to post these - hopefully this thread is obscure enough that I can put pictures of my girls in their duvet dresses that I made for our wedding.

Oof won’t you regret those shoes walking round WDW all day? 😄 not a bit jealous, nope..... Envy

RedPink · 19/06/2019 09:11

Drowning. Those are lovely. Really pretty dresses.

BonnieBelleStarr · 19/06/2019 11:41

Those flower girl dresses are lovely. Long ago I wanted to learn dress making but I am not creative enough.....

Mxyzptlk · 19/06/2019 14:56

BonnieBelleStarr, you don't have to be creative to make clothes from patterns. You just have to learn how to do it.

Thinking up your own designs and making clever use of fabric, as the OP did, is creative though.

drowningincustard, those dresses, and girls, are gorgeous. Smile

ImMeantToBeWorking · 19/06/2019 16:12

OMG I love them, can you make me some? I will pay!! I am shite with making anything!! lol

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 19/06/2019 16:17

Fab.

I love yours, too Drowning. Your girls are so sweet.

MadSweeney · 19/06/2019 16:21

Well done you! I did similar for DD last year for Disney. I found this toy story fabric really cheaply in our local market, so made a circle skirt and 3D printed Jessies belt to go with it. I'm not very good at sewing I add 😂

This is genius. I am having a party in the garden in a few weeks time and now I’m going to make bunting out of my old duvet cover! Thank you.

I wish I had the skills (and sewing machine) to make a dress, but I’m sure I can manage to hand sew bunting.
