Food ideas for 10

We're having parents and siblings round for a family catch up next weekend to celebrate a belated Father's Day. There'll be 10 altogether ranging in age from 13 to 85.

Will be a sit down at the dining table affair.

Trying to think of what food to do. Usually do a roast, but I'm a bit bored of cooking/serving roasts, so fancy doing something a bit different.

Needs to not be super hot and spicy (although gently spicy is fine), not fish/seafood and not something with a very sweet/sugary sauce (diabetes), but apart from that no food restrictions.

I'd like something a bit more special than lasagne or shep pie etc

Any ideas?

Baked ham?
Stuffed chicken breasts with cheese or mushrooms, and parma ham?
Coq au vin?

I love ME food, which is neither hot nor spicy, so I would do a mezze table, with a slow cooked lamb joint as a centrepiece perhaps, plus the usual falafel, fatoush salad, dips like hummous, baba ganoush, potato salad....... you can make pretty much all of this in advance and provide enough choice to suit everyone's taste.

Or 'just' lamb kleftico

Fajitas or tacos maybe so everyone can roll their own? Or possibly a big chilli with jacket potatoes, garlic bread, salad

I make Nigella's slow cooked lemon and garlic chicken a lot, it's a traybake and doesn't need a lot of attention and I serve it with roasted new potatoes and salads with some bread on offer too. www.nigella.com/recipes/slow-roasted-garlic-and-lemon-chicken

A nice mild chilli with rice and nachos you can make in advance so not too much faffing

A lamb tagine? Doesn't need to be spicy hot, the one I make has apricots and almonds.

I would do a stew, lamb or beef, with a big pot of pommes dauphinoise. Or roast duck with mushroom risotto and salad.

And then a choice of chocolate cake or a nice lemon mousse or tarte au citron for dessert.
