Londoners - taxi help

Can anyone help me out with some questions I have

How easy is it to get a taxi outside kings cross?
Do London taxis still accept cash?
How long will I need roughly on a Saturday afternoon to get from kings cross to Waterloo?

I’m well aware there are other, cheaper ways of getting between the two but I want something easy that I don’t have to think about too much so please don’t suggest I use the tube or any other method of getting to Waterloo

• usually a whole line of cabs
• all black cabs now take cards - they have to - but imo most prefer cash still
• I'd allow 30 mins

Yep there’s a big long taxi tank to the right of the station (if you’re walking out the main entrance) - do you have a connecting train to catch from Waterloo? If so if just check to make sure it’s not going to be affected by the South Western train strike.

If you put kings cross into Google maps, hit directions and put Waterloo as your destination, you can hit the little taxi icon (waving man with bag) to get an estimate of time and fare - I believe if you amend the time/day it will update the estimate based on average traffic conditions for that time/day

London cab driver in the family says give yourself half an hour and it'll be roughly £20-£25

All taxis take card now.

If your travelling this Saturday, be aware that it is Art Night at Kings Cross so it might be busier than usual, I would allow extra time.

You could also install the Uber app - it will probably be a lot cheaper.

Not travelling until July so hopefully no disruptions but I’ll have a 5 year old in tow so think I’ll give myself an hour to be on the safe side
