We moved house and when I gave the new address to our old GP they wouldn't keep us. I was kind of expecting it but we had been there nearly 40 years...anyway registered at new surgery which is closer and sucked it up.
there was a debate on our local facebook about local GP surgeries and a lady posted she was registered at our old surgery and had moved to another village which actually is further out than the one we moved to and would be staying with that surgery! I posted and said will they let you as its outside their boundary. She said yes they made an exception for us!
A lady who works at our old surgery then came on and said yes that is correct in some circumstances we will keep people on outside the boundary. I have asked for this criteria as this just seems so unfair but they have fudged now and won't explain this just said that it s about home visits? That doesn't make sense who gets a home visit these days!
just feel incredibly let down by them and ridiculous as it sounds totally rejected. I don't understand why we were told to leave but this isnt' being applied strictly.
It is rather a who you know kind of area and I am wondering if that eventually is what it comes down to and this is just so wrong.
