Anyone else going to see Metallica? What's the best way to get to the Etihad?!

We've never been to the Etihad before so just wondering what the best way to get there is - are the roads nearby going to be absolutely jam packed?

We have a friend who could drop us off nearby, are some areas or roads better for that than others?

Would appreciate any advice from Manchester MNetters! Smile

I went to Etihad for Muse last week. It was £15 for the official stadium carpark which was easy to get into and a 10 min walk from the stadium.

We had to queue a bit to get out the carpark but would say we were on our way within 40 mins. I would not want to be a car trying to drive into the area when everyone was trying to leave.

The queue for the tram looked horrendous but never actually used that to get out so not sure if it is better managed than it looks.

I'd get the tram and get dropped at one of the stops further out (Droylsden/Audenshaw). They do get busy but more so coming from the city centre rather than the other way.

Oh dear sweet baby Jesus... Metallica!!
They are the best, make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end band EVER in this world, I’m not gonna lie!

Enter Sandman live and ear poppingly loud.. amazing!

I really wanted tickets but they were ridiculously expensive and we couldn’t justify it.

Enjoy you lucky lucky devil you!

Never been there for a concert only for football. The tram is really organised. The queues look long but are efficient and move quickly. Car parking is OK too.

Make sure you don't miss the support act Ghost - very entertaining.
