The Implant Experiences

I posted about this a fair few months ago but am still too much of a wimp to get it done. I just have a few questions that are really tying me down because not only do i wanna be 'safe' but I also want periods that are easier to cope with. Currently they're really heavy and painful and dragged out (lasting up to 9/10 days) so I want something that would possibly help that and not make it worse.
My questions for you are:
•How did it affect your periods?
•Have any of you actually conceived while you've had it?
•How did it affect your skin and mood?
•You're general experiences

Am on implant number 4 which is 8 years of use. Mainly for horrendously heavy periods, contraception is a bonus.

Implant 3 actually "expired" whereas 1 & 2 I had replaced 6 months early as wanted to be sure they wouldn't fade away at the end.

  1. Periods stop entirely, apart from last 6 months of number 3 (which should have alerted me to the fact it needed changing! 🙄)
  2. Nope
  3. Once the injection I'd had only 4 weeks before the original one had cleared my body, I felt fine (tearful whilst it was doubled up though). Also felt more rage-y as number 3 came to the end (again, should have thought about that and checked the replacement date!)
  4. Generally I love them. Replacements have been OK, horrible and easy peasy. Number 2 had gone deep and had to be cut out. Number 3 had gone very deep but popped right out. For 3 years worth of no periods, it's totally worth 2 weeks of discomfort and dressings.
