Cystitis why have you struck me down in the middle of the night when there is nothing I can do?

NC because I will be ranting about this to all and sundry tomorrow. I am not some kind of toilet troll. I am just a middle aged woman in pain. I am fully responsible because hardly any liquid has past my lips the last few days.

I've now drunk a lot of water. I'm single with DC in bed so no option to head out and buy anything to help. I have to get up early for work and have a big presentation to prepare for as well so I will have to soldier on.

Just feeling sorry for myself.

I don't like hot water bottles but I'm still on the water.

I've seen people on Mumsnet suggesting sitting in a warm bath and weeing in it as less painful. Not tried it myself. Commiserations op cystitis is not fun.

If you have any sodium bicarbonate (common baking ingredient) make a saturated solution and drink at least a pint. Flavour with diluting juice if you have any, it tastes horrid but does help. Keep up with the water.

You can go onto Superdrug. Fill out a set of questions and they will send you tablets instead of going to the doctor. If u get to that point.

I managed to get some sleep. I feel a little better today, thank God, so hopefully I have flushed it out before infection really takes hold.

I've done the sitting in a bath thing before. It works but fortunately I don't think I'll have to this time around.
