Winter sun holiday

Handle27 · 17/06/2019 21:55

Looking for ideas for some winter sun. Late October or early November.
2 small kids (2.5 and 8 months).
Ideally less than a 4 hour flight from the UK. Hotel on or very close to the beach. Looking for a bit of luxury so don't mind paying a bit extra.
Currently on the list..
Tenerife, Cyprus, Malta or Sicily.

Happy to consider other places... Or any hotel recommendations would be useful!

Thanks!

It's winter in Sicily in November. You might be lucky and get some warm sunny days in Cyprus. Malta is not really a winter sun destination.

So Tenerife or the other Canary Islands are the safe bet weather wise.
Just go on a tour operator website like Tui or Jet2 and narrow down the search to 5* hotels on the beach.

Thanks. Will take a look

Jet2 over any of the others for their luggage allowances and resort check in. Especially when travelling with young kids. So much easier. Tenerife and Gran Canaria would be my choices at that time of year as the others will be cooler

Tui Family Life Gran Canaria - great hotel.
This year we are doing Tagoro family fun in Tenerife, they also have a hotel on Lanzerote

Maybe here in the UK OP, since summer hasn't arrived yet

Playa Blanca, Lanzarote. Princessa Yaiza is complete Luxury but £££s.

TwigTheWonderKid · 18/06/2019 10:32

I was coming on here to say Princessa Yaiza too!

PutyourtoponTrevor · 18/06/2019 11:21

Lanzarote here too, go every year but in December, used to be Tenerife but had a change a few years back and love Lanzarote now. We stay between Los Poscillos and Matagorda

AnthonyCrowley · 18/06/2019 11:30

I went to Tenerife in Oct half term once and it was cold and cloudy. So not sure I'd call it a safe bet.

crustycrab · 18/06/2019 17:26

Nowhere is a safe bet. But it's a better bet than Sicily

Handle27 · 19/06/2019 10:43

Maybe worthwhile to consider something a bit further away. Any other destinations worth it? Maybe could extend flight time by a couple of hours
