St Josephs Vale- Blackheath

we are a family considering to move to Blackheath for its outstanding schools. I would very much appreciate any advice with regards to the area St Josephs Vale, is it safe to live? any crimes or social disadvantages there? is £400,000 prices for 2 bedrooms flat is standard for that area? cheap? expensive? or does it indicate a problem or deficit in the property?

I am also looking at this area. It seems that the way to and from blackheath station is quite quiet and have to pass through heather lane? It is safe to walk back home at night after work? we are an overseas family considering moving to london. appreciate your advice!
