UK road trip

I'm thinking of doing an England/Wales road trip for about 2 weeks. Just me.
I'll probably do a mixture of driving and trains. I don't want to drive in large cities.

Where would you go if it was you?
I'm thinking of starting with Cardiff, Lancaster and Wales. I know nothing about Wales so advice welcome.

I'd like to go to Bath, Bristol, possibly Dorset or Cornwall, Windsor, London, Lincoln and back to North East. This probably isn't all doable in the time I've got.

Where would you go if it was you. What are your must see places?

While it might be doable, you'll probably spend too much time driving to enjoy it properly. I wouldn't do Wales and Devon and Cornwall for example, just one or the other.

So maybe a rough loop across the Pennines into North Wales, through Wales to Cardiff across to Bristol and Bath, then London then north via Lincoln back up to the north east.

Mention of Windsor and Lincoln suggests that you are interested in large historical castles/cathedrals? Caernarvon in North Wales is a well known one and North Wales is beautiful with lots of historical sites.
