What's good from Avon these days?

Sorry, bit of a mundane topic really. My neighbour is an Avon lady and I've just got some bubble bath off her and a catalogue. Having a look through but just wondered if anyone still buys it and what your favourite things are. I'm not too fussed about make up, but I'm stuck in a rut of buying the same shampoo, soap etc and fancied a change.

I'm getting the pillow spray for DH (he actually requested it) and a skin so soft spray because I love the smell. What else should I buy?!

Following as I would like to know too.

I like their Anew face moisturisers.

I get quite a bit from Avon- I know you're not too bothered about make up but the foundation, primer, eyeshadow, nail varnishes, eyeliner etc all good.

Skin wise I like the cleansers, cleansing wipes and oils, eye make up remover etc. I've never used the shampoo so would be interested to hear what others think but I do use the hair serum which is also good.

Make up brushes, tweezers etc all good quality and reasonably priced, quite often they have special offers which is when I tend to buy these things.

Overall I find the quality good, better then the high street equivalents.

I have nothing useful to add but want to know too! I have acquired an Avon guy and feel obliged to buy something every month but don’t know what. I bought a lipstick last month and it was crap.
My husband finds it hilarious that I am forced to spend money because I feel too guilty not to.

Myusernameismud · 16/06/2019 20:38

I might give some of the make up a try, I've got really sensitive skin so I'll steer clear of foundations, but I might try a lipstick and there's a mascara I like the look of.

I'll report back!

The Little Black Dress perfume smells lovely.

I got the skin so soft spray, but it left my legs really dry. I think it’s got alcohol in it. I love the scent, but waiting for warm weather to try it again.

Figgygal · 16/06/2019 20:44

I've started using their day and night creams and my favourite foundation for possibly 10 years is Avon.

I've not had a rep for 3 years since moving house until a couple months ago the most recent book I spent £40 Blush

I also feel compelled to buy every book but I do rate their nail varnish

DobbyTheHouseElk · 16/06/2019 20:46

The only thing is the time it takes from ordering to arrival. 3 weeks last time I ordered.

Avon sun cream is very good and often on special offer.

PintOfBovril · 16/06/2019 20:50

I'm an avon addict. I love the Anew Cleansing Balm and the Cleansing Mask/cream, both are as good as or better than my old Ren products at triple the price. The 'Luck' perfume is a close approximation of Chanel Mademoiselle but actually lasts longer I think. Any of the intensive hand lotions I can wholly recommend and the same for the lipbalms that come in a squeezy tube. I'd steer clear of the hair stuff personally as I've often found the formulations too rich and weigh my hair down. They do very reasonable sun protection stuff too.

RuthW · 16/06/2019 20:58

Love Avon. Have worn the sun cream everyday as moisturiser for 20 years. I only wear Avon lipstick. Anti perspirant, bubble bath, shampoo and shower gel are great. I use their face powder and tinted moisturiser too. Also pillow mist and the oil spray is great for loads of things including cleaning whiteboards and tops of toilet seats!

MistyMinge2 · 16/06/2019 21:03

We've got a lady at work who's neighbour does Avon. I've bought a few things. Some good, some not so good. Their nail polishes are good and they do a shave oil, which is good to use in the shower when doing your legs. Leaves them feeling soft instead of drier than the Sahara. I bought a eyebrow powder/wax pallette thingy that's still going strong. I never spend more than a few quid on anything.

Livedandlearned · 16/06/2019 21:04

I like the eye cream in a silver tube.

Leosnewmummy · 16/06/2019 21:37

My mum has been using the skin so soft spray on her arms ( pink bottle). She swears the hairs on her arms are dissapearing.

Norma27 · 17/06/2019 06:42

Avon is not cruelty free so I would not purchase anything from them now. They are also mlm now which puts me off too.
