PS4 time limits

Kids aged 9 and 7. They're hooked and its driving me nuts. I'm curious as to how long other parents allow their kids to play on the PS4?

Our current rule is - not before school, after school allowed until 6pm, and on the weekends they are allowed after we've had lunch and actually left the house to do something in real life.

But I think I need to tighten the rules a bit more.....

we have a chalkboard in the kitchen for ds and dd (one each), and they are given 6 hours at the start of the week. they can choose how they use these, but once they have used up their 6 hours, it's gone and they don't get anymore time until the next week.

The fucking PS4 is the bane of my existence.

We’ve settled on not at all Mon-Weds, DS2 earns time on Thursday by doing extra maths (DS1 barely has spare time in the week and DD is good at doing more of a range of things anyway and gets plenty of homework whereas DS2 gets barely any). Friday they play until 7/8 when we usually eat together and watch a film. Weekends depends on weather and what’s going on. Lazy winter weekends they play a lot, but now we are out more, in the park or seeing friends which breaks it up.

Thanks. Yes the bane of my existence too!

I think I may give them an hour a day. It's just so hard to police it when I'm on my own and am sorting dinner etc. Maybe I need to fiddle with the settings and see if there is a timer on there?
