Dropping the ball at work

Ugh, I've been taking on too much at work for some time now. This is now starting to take it's toll on the quality of my work. I know this and kept convincing myself I would get on top of it.

This week I completely dropped the ball regarding a project I am part of. I didn't submit my share of the work and it not only made me look bad, but also my colleagues that had to present.

I am embarrassed and so disappointed in myself.

Colleague picked me up on it. She was furious.

I'm struggling to move past it.

How do others cope with this sort of difficult feedback?

Admit your error and then sit down with your manager and figure out how to ease your workload.

Yes, you're right. It was just incredibly shitty.
