Weird periods with pill

I was put on the pill by my doctor two months ago because my ovaries are damaged . The first time I had my pill for a month I finished on a Sunday and my period started on the Thursday and it was heavy and finished on Tuesday I still took my pill on the Monday even though my period hadn't finished . The second time now I still finished on the Sunday but my period only started today ( Saturday) and it's very light . Is this normal ??

You have to think of these as ‘breakthrough’ bleeds rather than periods. They’re not true periods because you won’t have ovulated. They are likely to be quite different, they’re likely to settle down when you’ve been taking it for a while. Obviously if you’re worried you should contact your GP but it sounds similar to my experience on the pill.

You don't actually have to have a bleed at all on the pill, just keep taking it with no breaks.
