Am happy to drink on my own but company is welcome. It's been a shit week and a few glasses is numbing it all.

I have white wine. DH and DS two have been away on a trip and a re due back in the early hours. Eldest DS is out and DD is watching her tablet in bed. I'm watching Top of the Pops 1988...so much crap.

LucilleBluth · 14/06/2019 19:50

God, one wine in and I can't type.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 14/06/2019 19:52

White wine here as well, can't remember 1988 I had just left school!

caffeinebuzz · 14/06/2019 19:55

I'm enjoying a glass of Prosecco while DH does bedtime. Will definitely be topping myself up if he's gone too long Wink

FiveGoMadInDorset · 14/06/2019 19:57

Like your style, luckily mine are of an age where they can put themselves to bed, with a bit of lights out yelling

caffeinebuzz · 14/06/2019 19:59

I long for those days! Although they're a while away.

How come your week was so shit? Or would you rather not talk about it and just let the wine do it's thing?

Impatientwino · 14/06/2019 20:01

Having a few glasses here tonight too. Been a busy week and got our niece over for movie night. Our youngest DS in bed and eldest DS plus niece now eating body weight in popcorn and chocolate buttons.

Sitting on my hands to stop myself joining them snaffling in the bowls Grin

Had one g&t and a large glass of Gavi de Gavi and got that lovely relaxed ahh feeling.

Paella cooking and must try to remember to stir it in a minute and not drink too much more Confused

Cheers to all whatever you're drinking GinWineBrew

FiveGoMadInDorset · 14/06/2019 20:01

What's the movie?

OP posts:
TheWoollybacksWife · 14/06/2019 20:04

I'm just about to start my second glass of wine. Unfortunately that's the end of the bottle so I'm making it last. These days 2 glasses is my limit.

Impatient paella for dinner here too and I'm now MNing, watching Venom with about 20% of my concentration and crocheting a nativity.

ifancyagreencard · 14/06/2019 20:05

DH in the Far East, DD still away at uni, DCat has fucked off out.
Shit day at work, I have declared a FIAF (Fuck it all Friday) and am on third Aperol whilst watching Benidorm on Netflix. Pure class, me Grin

FiveGoMadInDorset · 14/06/2019 20:07

ReginaGeorgeous · 14/06/2019 20:07

Sorry to hear you've had a shit week OP, did you want to talk about it?

I've just opened a nice sauvignon blanc. My baby is starting to sleep a bit longer at night, he shouldn't wake for a feed for at least another four hours so I'm enjoying a bit of peace. Much needed having listened to the four year old whinging all day.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 14/06/2019 20:10

My DH is terminally Ill and he has been in a funk all week which has been difficult to manage for us all, I dragged him to the pub tonight and it has lightened the mood

OP posts:
weddingplannc · 14/06/2019 20:14

I'm getting married in the morning, and am sitting (hiding) in my childhood bedroom with a bottle of wine waiting for MOH to arrive and letting my mum get on with all the stressing. Happy for some non-wedding related company! Wine(I'm very excited and grateful for my mum's help but I've been here for two days and she's doing my head in)

weddingplannc · 14/06/2019 20:16

Op I just saw your last update after I posted. Glad you were able to lighten the mood with a trip to the pub, but so sorry to hear that your DH is terminally ill (and has been in a funk)Thanks.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 14/06/2019 20:21

needsleepzzz · 14/06/2019 20:25

Sorry about your DH OP, hope he's picked up and enjoying his evening.
Red wine here, in the middle of potty training Hmm its needed Wine

Impatientwino · 14/06/2019 20:27

Movie is 'Mr Beans holiday' Confused DS is only 6 and loves it! I'm trying to not listen to it!

So sorry about your DH, how awful for you all. It must be incredibly hard to live with for you and I guess life in the meantime has to go on doesn't it? No point moping all the time about things. It must just make things feel worse? Forgive me if I'm off base, not trying to offend.

Our baby son died 3 years ago and I remember reading a poster once that said 'Life may have given you a cactus but you don't have to sit on it'

It did make me smile. Some days I still do sit on it I guess and it does me good but I do get that it doesn't get me anywhere Smile

Halfway through my second big glass now and off to stir!

Knackerelli · 14/06/2019 20:28

I’ve had two lovely ice cold glasses of white wine! Kids actually at a sleepover with grandparents ( first in two years) been out for a curry with DH who is struggling with depression so despite being much longed for on both sides was eaten in near silence. Sigh. Oh well. Now got a mug of hot chocolate as parkrun in the morning. Wine for everyone

ScreamingValenta · 14/06/2019 20:30

I'm just about to start some Rose after a crappy week.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 14/06/2019 20:32

impatientwino lovely post and I am so sorry about your loss, and yes real life does go on especially with two children

OP posts:
Nononononono33 · 14/06/2019 20:33

I’ve had my favourite G&T and now have a glass of white wine. DH on the way back from a work trip overseas so will try to stay awake til he gets back about 11pm. Comfort watching Gavin and Stacey episodes on Netflix... sorry to those who’ve had a rubbish week - been there many times! Cake Wine

CleanYourOwnShit · 14/06/2019 20:33

Impatientwino 💐 for your loss - my DD died 21 years ago.
Last week when my DP (or not) was throwing the entire contents of my wardrobe at me because he was pissed on gin (his excuse) I packed a bag . I slept with it all night. I didn’t care about anything but the only 2 photos I have of her. I slept with the bag all night.
It never goes away. Ever. I miss her every moment of every day .

OP 🌷 for your DH & your family

My DD d

ifancyagreencard · 14/06/2019 20:34

@FiveGoMadInDorset blimey, haven't seen your username for ages!

I know there's simply no comparison between a terminally ill Dad and a DH and I can't imagine the strain you've been under for years....

But all I can say is that Gavin and Stacey got me through Dad's lengthy terminal illness. Mindless TV can be such a useful distraction and can take you away from it all, if only for half an hour

Benidorm is fucking ace and my guilty secret. The are 10 WHOLE SERIES! Get thee to Netflix and start watching. . .

Oh and some unMN'y Thanks
