Ticketmaster terms and conditions- anyone know how things work?

I bought tickets for DS1 (19) to see Metallica next week at the Etihad Stadium, printed tickets arrived a month or so ago. They were a Christmas present so I paid for them, through Amex invites and they have my name on the front.

I'm now worrying that they won't let him in as he's not me. I've tried to find Ts nd Cs online and it's hard to see any info. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Am sure someone will know. Can anyone help OP?

I've never been to a gig where they checked names on tickets. As long as he has a ticket, he will be fine.

Unless it’s specifically stated on the ticket that the cardholder must be attending (I’d would then be required) then no, anyone can use them. People buy for gifts, prizes etc daily

Metallica stated at Manchester Arena last year that the lead booker needed to be in the group. This wasn't followed through as the extra security after the bombings meant the queues to get in were massive.

This time as far as I know there are no restrictions.

MadSweeney · 15/06/2019 21:13

@Mac47 it's becoming increasingly common so never assume. Iron Maiden trialled a system where you needed to scan the card you paid with. It's being done to try and minimise tout tickets.

@OwlMother I'll see him in the pit Grin

IHaveBrilloHair · 15/06/2019 21:14

Tickets often say this, they have never IME followed through.

Oliversmumsarmy · 15/06/2019 21:16

I think Hamilton is the only thing where they were strict on the person booking being in the party going in

MadSweeney · 15/06/2019 21:19

@IHaveBrilloHair they started to at Metallica O2 last year, very strictly too. Issue was the queue was huge and many people hadn't gotten into the arena by the time they came on. It was chaos. It was eventually abandoned to get people in but as I said above Maiden do it and many bands are following suit.

Thanks everyone, I'm now feeling much better about things. I'd have gone along with him if I wasn't working (his interest in Metallica was largely my fault!) @MadSweeney I'm actually getting more jealous the closer it gets!

I finally got a response from ticketmaster who say it's not a "lead booker" event so anyone can use the tickets. He's had friends who have had issues at a couple of events, can't remember what, with names on tickets hence why I was twitchy!
