If you have a condenser dryer, what do you do with the water it generates?

Riveting stuff for a Friday evening Grin

I am trying to be a bit greener & waste less. What can I safely use the water from my condenser dryer for? I hate throwing it away!

I water plants with mine, usually tip it straight into a watering can outside the back door.

FiveShelties · 14/06/2019 17:06

I just tip it away, never thought of doing anything with it. I live in NZ so it does not get much use to be honest.

I am going to throw it on the lawn in future though.☺

I have no plants to water really so I just pour it into the shower tray. Then the cat likes to drink it Hmm

JumpingFrogs · 14/06/2019 17:06

I put mine in the steam iron

DustOffYourHighestHopes · 14/06/2019 17:06

It’s plumbed into our waste water system

Ronsters · 14/06/2019 17:07

Water plants

elastamum · 14/06/2019 17:09

It is distilled, so very clean. use it for the iron or stick it in a bucket for washing the floors or windows

BubblesBuddy · 14/06/2019 17:11

Ours enters an external pipe and it discharges into a drain. I could divert it into a watering can and water plants. This would be the best use I think.

MyNameIsCharlesII · 14/06/2019 17:12

@JumpingFrogs surely that only uses a tiny amount of the water you get from the dryer though? I’m pouring litres of the stuff away. Unless you are a prolific ironer of course.

Nacreous · 14/06/2019 17:12

For the iron or for washing windows/mirrors usually.

WellTidy · 14/06/2019 17:13

I water the plants with it or use it in the iron

alidew · 14/06/2019 17:14

I save it in a bucket for floors or next car wash. Hadn't thought of saving to water indoor plants!

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 14/06/2019 17:15

I water the plants, I have washed the windows before...

JumpingFrogs · 14/06/2019 17:16

@MyNameIsCharlesII I don't use my dryer much. Never iron, but dh is a keen ironer. Keep 2 or 2 bottles topped up so it's always in cupboard when he needs it. Smile

PickAChew · 14/06/2019 17:17

If it's conveniently timed, I tip it into a brown to rinse dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. Sometimes I tip it in the bath, if someone has left it bitty. Sometimes I tip it on the garden, if the patio doors are open. Mostly, it ends up down the sink because I have no immediate need for it but I do need the dryer again, sharpish.

Enigmasaurus · 14/06/2019 20:13

Thanks all.
Seems garden / plants / iron are the most common. I have a few indoor plants I can use it on Smile
