requesting another viewing after making an offer?

Is this not the done thing. DH only say house once, I saw it twice, we've put in an offer but he thinks he'd like to see it again.

Is this the done thing or not?

Yes, tell them you want to make
Some measurements for curtains, planning what you're doing with furniture etc

My last two purchases were empty but I went a few times! I even got the keys the day before completion to shampoo the carpets of this house lol

FiveShelties · 14/06/2019 16:27

I would have no problem with you viewing again if I was the seller. I cannot think of a reason to object, if you want to sell you have to make it easy for the buyer. Good luck

Clawdy · 14/06/2019 16:27

You can certainly go back and have another look round, most sellers don't mind at all. We've done it with several house moves.

ComeBackBarack · 14/06/2019 16:31

It's partly because I'm not sure about it!

You don’t need to tell them that. Tell them it’s to measure up...

HotChocolateLover · 14/06/2019 17:45

Entirely reasonable. I read somewhat that, even though a house is most people’s biggest purchase, they usually spend less than half an hour in it before buying it. I spent longer than that choosing my hoover!

ComeBackBarack · 14/06/2019 18:14

So...if we change our mind...

Better to do it now than cfurther down the line.

Normandy144 · 14/06/2019 18:46

Have they accepted the offer? If you are unsure then go and see it again. Assuming you want to pull out then do it sooner rather than later to avoid wasting their time.

ComeBackBarack · 14/06/2019 19:19

Yep they’ve accepted it...

Of course if you need to see it again see it again! You should view a property at least twice before making an offer. My only objection was when my buyer asked to come for the FIFTH time on moving day before we had even exchanged! I said no as the house was in total disarray. But obviously I had let her come four times before...

Atalune · 14/06/2019 19:24

Well it’s a huge purchase so I think you can come and look again. It upsets the seller sometimes but I think you should definitely go and view it.

Al203 · 14/06/2019 19:27

You need to see it in the week and also the weekend.

You have no obligation to buy and the vendor has no obligation to sell at this stage.

chrisrobin · 14/06/2019 19:30

Yes, visiting again is quite normal for measuring up etc. If you are having doubts it's best to sort them before you or the vendor spend any more money on solicitors and things.

Just don't be like the people who bought our last house- 12 times they visited and then got huffy when I said 'no more'! They still sneaked in again when the surveyor came while we were away- the estate agent had given them the keys to give to their surveyor who was their family friend.

GreenDragon75 · 14/06/2019 20:28

Definitely go and have another look. It’s such a huge purchase and I am such a massive worrier I had to go back. To be honest it put my mind at rest.
Lots of reasons you can say - you want to measure up - see how furniture will fit etc. Perfectly reasonable request.
