Most of the food is ruined, but will I be OK to cook nuggets etc up, even if they're defrosted, or should I chuck them? I know refreezing is a no no....

No. I'd cook any fresh meat like chicken etc and use it in meals, sandwiches for a few days but not nuggets etc.

If there is a lot of expensive food in there then check your insurance. The excess might be cheaper than replacing it all

Thanks crusty I'll chuck it all. Luckily, it was our freezer o'crap, so nothing that can't be replaced cheaply x

Gutted. I did it once. The whole house smelt of birds eye chicken Blush

Happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Luckily was the freezer I use for veg, lollies and puds and quick go to meals like nuggets. I didn’t want to risk anyone throwing up so decided to play it safe and chuck the lot.
