What have you got your dad for Father’s Day?

Need to pop and get something today. We don’t do big gifts in our family so probably something about £20. Have any of you found something a bit different or an absolute bargain ? He’s easily pleased and usually appreciates socks etc but hoping for a better idea. Thanks

Nothing for my dad, I will send him a text.
He lives abroad and we never see him anyway but we message from time to time.
The dc will do cards for dp (and I think we are going to get him a birdbox with a camera inside) but it’s his stepmums birthday on Sunday so he’s cooking for her, his mum and stepdad.
I’m getting my stepdad a game for his PlayStation.

Haven't got my own dad anything yet except for a card. He doesn't have any interests really but has a sweet tooth so he'll probably get a box of biscuits or something.

It's my DPs first father's day however so I suppose I better get him something a bit more meaningful from our baby!

My Dad has gone an M&S gift card.

DH has a curry book, Twin Peaks box set and 2 packets of Munchies!

Laniakea · 14/06/2019 11:44

Nothing exciting, we don’t really make a big deal of it - a card & a box of chocolates.

My kids have got dh some gym shorts & a bag of nuts!

Ivegotthree · 14/06/2019 11:46

A book about politics and lunch in a nice restaurant. Maybe I'll get him some (?) boxer shorts as well, but I've left it a bit late for that.

freshasthebrightbluesky · 14/06/2019 11:58

Nothing for my dad. He doesn't need anything, hasn't asked for anything and doesn't bother with father's day. Same for dh's dad.

Dh is getting some Turkish delight from the kids (paid for and ordered by me because they didn't have any ideas as he's given up drinking and is very particular about coffee).

Thanks all. I’m sorted :) popped to the works and got two books for his upcoming holiday, a card and a man tin ( £1land) that’s ive filled with his favourite sweets.

Best of all and thanks to @OhJustElfOff for the important reminder of time spent together, me and siblings have agreed to a big family picnic at Yorkshire sculpture park which is wonderful GrinSmile

If he was still here it would be a nice bottle of malt, we never bothered with cards.

This will be the 5th fathers day where, weather permitting, I'll have a trip to the crem with a bunch of bright flowers, usually yellow and orange roses, to lay at his stone where his ashes are interred, I'll take a travel mug of hot chocolate and we'll have a wee catch up.

Beebeequeue · 14/06/2019 13:57

That’s lovely BrokenWing, I hope you get some comfort ( we lost my sister at Xmas and I do similar at that time each year).

Sorry for all who have lost and will hurt this Sunday putting the idea of presents into perspective Flowers

Sorry also to those who have shithead DFs or exes. my own DC hasn’t seen her’s for nearly 20 years but she’s busy organising lovely things for her today.

Oh I love the idea of the sweet tin, I might save that up for next year!

Mine has a lovely card and some aftershave - sounds boring but he loves his aftershave.
