Dd is turning 11 this year and going up to year 6. We agreed on a phone at 11 because she will start walking to school alone (with friends) and I want the novelty to wear off before starting secondary.
Now dh and I are undecided when to give it. One of us thinks it should be a gift however the other thinks we should just give it to her. The phone will be DH old one with new case etc.
Mumsnetters when did u give dc first phone and How? Was it a gift or just because they needed one.
If it helps we are both early 30s so had phones when they first came out when we were her age.
