Cheapest nice red wine?

Usually buy in the £10 - £16 range but need to cut back financially. Any suggestions? I like a good Malbec and don't have an Aldi or Lidl anywhere near me 😢

Sainsbury own label are usually reliable

Aldi toro loco I think it's 3.99 a bottle and had won awards. They deliver to your door so it doesn't matter that it's a long way to your nearest Aldi

We like any of the Yellowtail wines, particularly the Jammy Red Roo. They also do a Malbec, Merlot and Shiraz. Normally around £7 but can generally get an offer at £6

Tesco finest Malbec is £6 and is surprisingly nice. I'm from a family of wine snobs and even they will drink it

I like the aldi rioja, their Malbec has won awards too but I prefer the rioja (and I'm a massive Malbec fan). Like a pp said, just get a case delivered so it doesn't matter where you live.

my favourite is campo viejo rioja tempranillo (bright yellow label)
Ranges in price from £6.50-8 depending on whether its on offer (it usually is)

Another vote for Campo Viejo Rioja Tempranillo and its usually on special somewhere? Currently £6.99 in Waitrose / £6.50 in Tesco

Came on to say that Lidl’s Baturrica (4.99) is my favourite, still worth a mention for others even though OP has no Lidl nearby.

Waitrose do a number of own brand wines that are 4.99, we always get them

Yes to sains own brand. £4-£5 and all very nice, well the ones I've tried

Carta roja from sainsburys is delicious and waitrose do a lovely chianti for £6-7

There a few malbecs in Tesco that are good. I have an app that I use where you photograph the label and it tells you ratings. Useful when you haven’t tried something before.

Barefoot Merlot is good for a cheapish red.
