Names for comforter

heartlanddrive · 12/06/2019 21:47

My 14week old DS has grown fond of a comfort blanket which he uses to go to sleep with. It's a cuski comforter, so not an animal or anything which would probably be easier to name! At the moment, it has lots of names... comforter, rag, cloth, thingy...
Does anyone have any permanent name suggestions? Or have any children with comfort blankets that had special names?
TIA

Sounds twee but my Ds has an old T-shirt of mine that has adopted the name snuggly

Jeezypeepers · 12/06/2019 21:49

Where I am in Scotland it gets called a cosy 😊.

Cottie for cotton handkerchiefs that were rated more highly the older and smellier they were!

Stinky/stink/stinks/stinkies. For the reasons Spaniel has mentioned Envy

I would wait and see. My daughter named her taggie blanket comforter "matinee" we have no idea why or what the hell it means, but it's her name & so it stuck. It happened around age 19m when she could speak. Before then it was just 'blanket' x

I had a beloved piece of cloth I called Cugger when I was small. I think it was my attempt to say ‘cuddle’.

2anddone · 12/06/2019 22:04

Raggy and shawly are my dc's comforters names

HobbyIsCodeForDogging · 12/06/2019 22:04

Blankie ☺️

Where I'm from in Scotland it was a sookie

Mumlife200 · 12/06/2019 22:06

Nangy or baby nangy

MuchTooTired · 12/06/2019 22:07

We called it cloth for DS, who liked to sleep cuddling with about 3 muslin cloths and his dream sheep which we imaginatively named sheep. He’s 16m now and has ditched the cloths, but still loves his sheep.

Justmuddlingalong · 12/06/2019 22:09

It's a sookie here too.

Dd’s Cuspid is called Bubby.

notso · 12/06/2019 22:10

Why not stick to Cuski, it's cute.

xSharonNeedlesx · 12/06/2019 22:10

Cuski bloomin autocorrect!

heartlanddrive · 12/06/2019 22:11

Thanks for all the replies! Loving the names so far, all very sweet. I have thought about just waiting until he can speak and choose his own name (if he still likes it that is!) but I'm just getting sick of hearing/saying "where's his cloth thingy" Grin

Dudley the snuggly.

itbemay1 · 12/06/2019 22:12

We had a binky

JeSuisPrest · 12/06/2019 22:13

My 8yo DD calls hers blankie. Word to the wise - get a spare whilst they're still available and hide it somewhere... It will save hours of angst years down the line trying to track down a discontinued blanket. No it won't have the same smell, taste (!) or have all the signs of wear of the original, but it's better than nothing, when you realise in a moment of horror the blanket has been left on a Greek bus on holiday 😱

heartlanddrive · 12/06/2019 22:13

@notso was thinking of that too as I think it means sleep in Welsh and my mum is from wales!

FlibbertyGiblets · 12/06/2019 22:14

It is a cwtchie surely?

heartlanddrive · 12/06/2019 22:16

@JeSuisPrest I've already thought of this so we currently have two on rotation in the hope that they age in the same way Grin

My oldest used to call his blanket his "sleep" because that's what he did with it. He needed his sleep before he could go to sleep! He's 20 and still has it in his bed! Though I think he can sleep fine without it now! Grin
