Fitbit help - not recording exercise

Ihatesundays · 12/06/2019 21:16

Hi
My fit recognises all my walks etc. This evening I did 40 minutes on the exercise bike and although it recognises it in overall active minutes (and as 15 minutes) it doesn’t show up as a separate exercise.
I made sure my heart rate was high throughout.
I’m just interested in the data from it.

I’ve made sure I’ve changed all my settings to 10 minutes activity.

Thanks!

They don't record kayaking & lots of things, tbh.

NotAgainKen · 12/06/2019 21:19

Don't you have to scroll through the options and start recording it as whatever exercise it is? I have to do that when I go for a run (or else it rather insultingly categorises it as a 'walk').

My fitbit can automatically recognise outdoor walking, running & outdoor cycling; they have some kind of algorithm to figure it out automatically. I think my fitbit got better (at recognising my sleep periods & exercise spells) the longer I have worn it, seems like the algorithm got fine tuned to me.

Delete the app and reinstall it, if it's previously done it

My Fitbit versa has stopped recording my sleep, and is 20 minutes slow. All happened in the last 48 hours. I have tried everything, I wonder if there has been a dodgy software update?

babysharkah · 12/06/2019 21:31

Did you manually select? It probably didn't pick it up because you're not moving your wrist on a bike.

LividLaughLove · 12/06/2019 21:45

Hmm. My Versa stopped recording HR yesterday and missed active minutes because of it. Fixed it by turning it off and on but wonder if it was a thing...

CalmdownJanet · 12/06/2019 21:47

Mine is the same, it records my walks/runs etc but I did a barre class and 45 minutes on a rowing machine the other day and it recorded nothing even though I was half dead after both. I just note the time I start/finish and record it manually now if it doesn't, just so I get to reach my weekly exercise goals

Ihatesundays · 12/06/2019 22:08

There is no option to select anything on the watch and I only reinstalled it last week.
It’s just frustrating as I want the information on it to help me make better exercise choices.
I worked out really hard as well!
I wonder if it’s lack of arm movement?

My Fitbit thinks I’m on an outdoor bike when I cut the grass Confused and because we live on a hill it counts every walk up the garden as a floor climbed, that means by the time I’ve cut the grass it thinks I’ve gone up 26 flights of stairs Grin
Sorry I’m no help

Mine didn't record a PT session on Tuesday. Logged the minutes but didn't count it as one of my 5 sessions for the week.
