Dd not weeing

locketsprocket · 12/06/2019 19:35

Dd is nearly 12 and has just mentioned she only has a wee twice a day.

She suffered with UTI's when younger and had to have scans etc that all came back clear but usual signs of them would be pain and urgent need to see and then hardly anything coming out.

She has been complaining of tummy ache

Should I be concerned with the only twice a day wee, she said it's always like that and just thought it was normal

She goes to toilet in the morning and then usually when she gets home from school and sometimes before bed but not always

Call 111 and get her seen, better to be on the safe side. Hope she's better soon xx

Seeline · 12/06/2019 19:40

How much does she drink?

locketsprocket · 12/06/2019 19:41

Sorry meant to say she often mentions tummy ache for last few years we've had frequent trips to A&E etc with tummy pain they put it down to rumbling appendix

She's not in agony just said she has a little pain in tummy not stopping her from going to school, Gymnastics etc just concerned about the not weeing and wondering if it could be another uti

Is it that she ignores the sensation to go for a wee/forgets to go or that she tries to go and nothing will come out except for 2 times a day? If it’s the former, I am like this and it is the reason why I constantly had UTIs for years. I now have to remind myself every few hours to go to the toilet

QueenBeex · 12/06/2019 19:45

Does she drink enough at school, when she gets home etc?

If she isn't drinking she won't need to wee often.

locketsprocket · 12/06/2019 19:48

I asked and she just said she doesn't need to go

As far today she's had a cup of tea, bottle of water at school and a glass of juice

I do remember at school we avoided going to the toilet unless we had our periods or when we had P.E because the toilets were so vile. (In retrospect, why was nothing done about it?!). So we didn’t drink very much. I used to take a 500ml bottle and that’s all we had.

If this is unusual for her though and she has abdo pain, I second the advice to call 111.

Sounds like she's not drinking anywhere near enough... 8 cups of fluid (non caffeinated) are recommended

JollyGiraffe · 12/06/2019 19:55

She's not drinking enough, unless she's drinking a litre bottle at school!
