Mooncup woes

Attempted Week 2 of Couch to 5K, and my bloody Mooncup made a bid for freedom. Managed three very uncomfortable runs then gave up. FFS.
I know my pelvic floor is crap, but this is a new low. Quite literally.

Anyone? Bueller, Bueller?

(Kind of hoping someone will say this isn't a sign of a prolapse)

Can you try joining a Pilates or yoga class for a few weeks / months to build up your core before trying running?? It's the worst kind of exercise - apart from trampolining!!

I have no idea about a prolapse, but if you seriously think it could be, you should see a doctor! Mine sometimes succumbs to gravity. Advice on here was to twist it a quarter-turn when putting it in, which seems to help - you could try that?

ScabbyHorse · 12/06/2019 18:52

Try a bigger mooncup? I use the big one.

VforVienetta · 12/06/2019 19:27

Yup, I do the turn thing, and it's the larger size (I've had DC). Both helpful thoughts tho, thank you.

I've seen a women's physio after DC2, and there wasn't a prolapse then, so it's prob unlikely, I just wondered if anyone else had a self-ejecting Mooncup!
I don't lift heavy things when I'm using it as carrying a few shopping bags makes it move down too.

Have you considered trying a different make of cup? I keep meaning to try another one as my mooncup has a nasty habit of leaking when my period is at its heaviest (it’s brilliant from day 3 onwards though ...)

putacupinit.com/quiz/

I think this is the quiz I tried, and it suggested a different make. Worth a try?

VforVienetta · 12/06/2019 20:01

I'll give that a go June thanks, I've also got a Meluna somewhere, will dig it out and see if it's happier staying put!!

Honestly - no one else suffers from Mooncup Rejection? Tardis

I have a prolapse and have no problems with mine. I struggle with tampons though. Perhaps try a different one? There was an online survey somewhere that figured out which one would probably be best for you. I'll try and find it.....
