What is your secret that you waste money on?

We must all have one thing that we secretly treat ourselves too... or waste money on.... for many women it seems to be shoes or a nice handbag etc.
Me? I waste my money on flight upgrades

What about you?

For me I have just done our first flight upgrade (to Premium economy). It feels very extravagant. When we did our first family holiday in 7 years (cruise) I upgraded us to a suite. It was bloody lovely. I have a special holiday account that I squirrel money away in (for example, I do not drink wine. When we go to the pub I calculate the difference in cost for a soft drink and a glass of wine and put the difference into the holiday account). THAT is what allowed me to do flight upgrades, a suite upgrade and last year I took the Dcs to a really fancy hotel in London for the weekend. This gives me huge pleasure.

MummytoCSJH I love your pick'n'mix habit. That is just perfect.

Stompythedinosaur · 13/06/2019 16:11

Pets - I have loads and they cost a lot. They are all well cared for and loved though!

Holidays - bloody love them.

Seeds and bulbs for my garden.

Dominos pizza
Expensive herbal teas
Nutella
Lotus Biscoff spread

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 13/06/2019 16:46

Nink

I'll fight my battles where they actually make a difference. IME people who say that use it as an excuse not to challenge sexism or other forms of discrimination, ever (because let's face it, how often do you encounter situations where you think, yep, saying something could change that person's mind?)

Lucky you're not offended by people making assumptions based on broad generalisations, when they actually know nothing about you Wink

Ready meals

Didiusfalco · 13/06/2019 17:14

@EggWrap me too! I think dh would be horrified by how much I spend on bird food, but I’ve found my visitors numbers have increased so much since I upgraded from Wilkos to RSPB food. It’s been a complete joy watching the fledglings this spring, so worth it.

EggWrap · 13/06/2019 17:20

@Didiusfalco I'd feed my birds before my husband if we ever got that poor 😈

MarshaBradyo · 13/06/2019 17:22

Dh is a bird feeder-aholic

Every week a new feeding system and blocks and seeds arrive

BeckyWithTheSplitEnds · 13/06/2019 17:30

@Catypillar - I might just be able to blow your mind. Sounds like you live close to me. Dobbie's in Stirling has a Hotel Chocolat "fridge thing" by the checkouts.

You're welcome! Grin

NavyBerry · 13/06/2019 17:32

I somehow seem unable to buy another pair everytime there's a slight change of weather or I do something a bit different. I do wear them though, but I have an unreasonable amount.
