Lentil help

Hoping someone can help me. When you are making for example spaghetti Bolognese or a curyy and you add dried lentils, do you need to precook them, as in follow the cooking instructions on the bag?
Or can I just put them in (especially if there is lots of juice for them to absorb)?
Im cooking a curry at the moment and overdid the stock, I'm wondering if I add lentils it will help, but don't know if I need to cook them.

You can add red lentils dry. You'll need to simmer them in enough fluid / stock until they are tender.

I measure them at 1 oz per person, then put them in a sieve to rinse, then put them in the pot. No pre cooking required. They do suck out all the flavour tho, so use plenty herbs and spices Smile
