As a PP said how do you know the mother hasn't disembarked the banana on the journey home and has now claimed your lovely home as hers Grinhave you checked for a bigger one

ceirrno · 12/06/2019 16:19

@BeyondMyWits Are you sure mummy spider was not in your bananas...

Confused
LemonTreeLemon · 12/06/2019 16:24

There's only one thing to do with that banana!

What's this on my banana?
UnderPompeii · 12/06/2019 16:40

No sign of mummy

Jeeeez people. I have suddenly gone right off bananas. Shock

PlinkPlink · 12/06/2019 17:31

This is my worst nightmare 🙈

You should have frozen it OP!

My DSis used to work at Aldi and she said whenever they got banana spiders they had to freeze them.

Works very well apparently.

UnderPompeii · 12/06/2019 17:33

Shall I fish it out of the bin and freeze it?

OP posts:
UnderPompeii · 12/06/2019 17:35

Its in the freezer. If my ice cream and oven chips get infested with spiders I'm blaming you lot🕷🕷🕷🕷

OP posts:
ballsdeep · 12/06/2019 17:36

Open it

BlueCornishPixie · 12/06/2019 17:41

Did you put it in a tuppaware in the freezer or just in the freezer? Shock

justanswerthephone · 12/06/2019 17:51

Why have you frozen it?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 12/06/2019 17:57

Was it a spidery related thing then? Are you not supposed to eat them when they look like that 🥺

UnderPompeii · 12/06/2019 18:05

Justanswer Cos PlinkPlink told me to. (And MsMightyTitan at the beginning of the thread, sorry for not immediately freezing) Its double bagged and in tupperware.
Penguin I expect the banana itself is edible but I'm not going to try.

Oh this happened to me. I took it back to Tesco and the lady said you'd be surprised how often this happens and that they have a specific protocol for spidery bananas. She took my email address and a few months later I was sent £35 vouchers and an update of which spider type it was (some harmless one which doesn't USUALLY bite they said).

BlondeBumshelll · 12/06/2019 18:46

Oh and a scarf in the post a few days after I returned it to store as an apology. I always find Tesco customer service really great (£10 voucher for cancelled delivery due to snow etc).

UnderPompeii · 12/06/2019 19:04

Ooh. Maybe I should take spider banana back to Sainsburys....

OP posts:
rollingpine · 12/06/2019 19:10

We live quite near Whipsnade Zoo so I'd have taken it there Grin

UnderPompeii · 12/06/2019 19:24

rollingpine I'm near to Marwell....and I have an annual pass WinkGrin

FuckYouRichardParker · 12/06/2019 19:34

I took one back to Sainsbury's. They said they would send it off for analysis and I didn't hear anything further. Certainly no vouchers!

JuneFromBethesda · 12/06/2019 19:35

It’s not a very tiny encouraging message from the Duchess of Sussex by the sound of the posts. Shame that

😂

HennyPennyHorror · 12/06/2019 23:44

You need to report it. If that sac has killers in it, you're releasing them potentially.

HermioneMakepeace · 12/06/2019 23:50

I was having lunch in our local uni outside eating area a few weeks ago. There were two guys sitting near me under a tree and we exchanged smiles and it was all very pleasant.

Suddenly the two guys sprang up and started screaming. They were covered in hundreds of baby spiders as presumably a spiders egg had hatched above them.

It was horrific.

ceirrno · 13/06/2019 07:23

@HermioneMakepeace I'm now scared to go back to uni....

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 13/06/2019 08:04

Yay itty bitty baby spiders. Grin

HermioneMakepeace · 13/06/2019 21:15

@ceirrno This was not in the UK, so don’t worry Grin.
