Been practicing like mad for my theory tomorrow and keep failing the hazard perception mocks EVERY TIME! Has anyone got any tips?!

Keep practicing and try not to get stressed!

I passed my a couple of weeks ago and was exactly the same! I passed 3rd time lucky after failing the other 2 by 1 mark (once the hazard perception and once the questions!)

Go in calm and safe in the knowledge that you can always take it again, no pressure. Easier said than done right?! But worked for me this time.

With regards to the test itself, when you’ve done enough practice videos you start to be able to preempt what you’re looking for or at least where to look. Click for every movement you see and click as it develops if you think it necessary. For example, when approaching a junction, click when you very first see an emerging car, click when it approaches the junction, click again when it pulls out in front of you. Don’t click constantly, just at the different stages of the manoeuvre. Does that make sense?
I found that I was often clicking too early so if in doubt click again!

Good luck!!

A friend of mine had this problem and it turned out they were really early and clicking too soon, so the advice they were given was this.

When you see a hazard don't just click on it once but three times with each one a second apart.

So, when you see a hazard click on it then wait one second (say something like "one thousand") and then click again.

So, it would be something like:-

"one thousand"

"two thousand"

Thank you very much both of you for the tips! I think perhaps I could be getting over eager and clicking too early!

This came up recently. Just going to quote myself from previous thread:

I struggled with it at first because I thought you had to click where on the screen you saw the hazard. So I was losing valuable nanoseconds navigating the cursor to the right bit of the screen.

You don't need to do that, just click. You may already know that but I thought it was worth saying in case not!

Yep it's tricky I failed my motorcycle theory for clicking too much. I think the key is be calm and wait for actual proper potential hazards. I was being over cautious and clicking at everything!

Knowing when to click can be tricky! But, if you click when you first see the hazard, then again if the hazard continues to develop, and again if you would have to take action, you should be fine.

Are you using any specific products to help you? I used an app from Driving Test Success which helped me practice and pass.
