DD (24) told us yesterday that she and her partner are expecting their first child.

It’s earlier than they had planned by about 4 years but hey ho.

She is the eldest of 6 on our side and her chap is the eldest of 3 on his (he’s 30)

It’s exciting isn’t being it? We have young dc still, youngest is 8, they're all excited.

I’m a bit worried about her mental health, she can’t be fragile, but other nanny and I will keep an eye out, we’re both local.

jelly Dd has always said she’d like me to help out with childcare. I’m happy to, I don’t go out to work. Other grandma works full time but we try and get together for coffee regularly already so it’ll be nice to go shopping together in due course.

Many congratulations, my dgd is three now & she is the light of my life & yy bringing even more closeness between myself & dd I was at the birth as well, am lucky that dd only lives ten minutes away so I see them three four times a week.Enjoy & they sound a brilliant couple🍾

Spots I have my dgd a couple of days a week & it’s been so lovely we have a really strong bond & I feel so much part of her life tbh I actually enjoy her far more than I did when mine were young, I struggle to put into words just the sheer love I have for her.

I am a grandmother and a great grandmother. The only bit more disturbing about your baby having a baby is when your baby becomes a grandparent.
I love it.WhenI was on my days off from being at work I cared for grandchildren when they were little, they have all lived with me (not all together) . I don't see my great grandchildren very often, about once a month, but love it when they come. The only down side of this is I am not able t run around after them like I once did

Spotsbeforemyeyes congratulations! I'm sat here waiting to find out what my daughter is having, 12 o'clock today is the scan time! I've already got 4 grandchildren and I love them to bits. I looked after one of them a lot as my daughter was doing her teaching degree, he's the light of my life.
So excited for you, and all the other grandmas out there.

I'll be 53 by the time it's born. Dh will be 50.

It's uncle's on our side will be 23 and 16 and aunties will be 15, 13 and 9.

On the daddies side it'll have 2 fab uncle's of 29 and 23 and a lovely Granny who also fit and healthy and only 50.

I'll be 53 by then dowser dh and I are both healthy and active. It's going to be lovely.

We have 5 other dc so it's uncle's will be 23 and 16, aunties will be 15, 13 and 9.

On the daddies side it'll have 2 uncle's of 23 and 29.

Then there's dh and I and the other Grandma. We're all local

Hey hallelouja yep. Some of the monkeys know, its still a secret though as she hasn’t told her bio dad yet. Telling him tomorrow.

Louja will understand this but I’m im nervous wreck everytime Dd calls or text me. I’ve had 6 miscarriages myself and I know statistically everything will be fine, someone will be that 1 in 3. Obviously I’m not sharing my fears with Dd .

She’s got her booking in in a couple of weeks, that’s exciting. I might have bought a plush polar bear and a book for the baby. 👶🏻
