Has anyone done this? I’ve just come across this and am very tempted to do it spurred on by images of famous five picnics along lovely country lanes and gorgeous scenery.

However I’m of low-reasonable fitness and wondered how long it would take, if anyone has any tips etc and whether I should just give up altogether?

The whole lot is 215 miles according to the website and there's loads of branches. Some of it goes through urban areas so not all lovely countryside.

I'm not sure that the intention is to do all of it like you would the Pennine Way, but there's the Mary Townley Loop in the middle that's 75 km, but it's off road and for mountain bikes rather than road or hybrid bikes - quite steep and technical in places

Or you can always try out bits of it near where you live by joining up with other tracks or going out and back.
