....... and I’m sitting here on full alert every time I hear someone outside in case they’re dumping stuff in it. 😄

Ha I’m exactly the same at the moment. We’ve had some really weird stuff turn up in it!

It'll be full by morning, I think they send out pheromones that can be picked up builders looking to save dump fees.

IVEgottheDECAF · 10/06/2019 21:31

Oh god i remember this well

Me. With the rage. Going through some cheeky fuckers rubbish to find out who was using my skip Blush

Bet i looked a right loon

wowfudge · 10/06/2019 21:32

People took stuff out of our skip. Then put stuff in it. Then others came and took stuff out if it. It was quite funny over the course of the week.

AlexaAmbidextra · 10/06/2019 21:33

Fortunately, I’m in a cul-de-sac with very little passing traffic but you can never be too careful with these things. I may have to sleep in it tonight. 😂

It's the only way to be sure OP.

It won’t just be builders. Our LA has just introduced charges for some types of household waste. Despite having one of the highest council taxes on average and despite the ‘trade’ charges being so high that fly tipping on farm land (that the land owner has to dispose of and pay for Hmm) has increased massively. I’m sure they won’t be the only LA to have done this. I think you’ll need to employ security for that skipGrin

IVEgottheDECAF · 10/06/2019 21:58

You just have to fill it and get rid quickly its the best way

Redcrayons · 10/06/2019 22:00

We live in a cul de sac and there were people rooting around in my neighbours skip every day. They were gutting the whole house so there was all sorts of stuff in it, radiators, doors, windows frames etc.

Anyway, you don’t mind if I pop round with a couple of bits old fence for your skip? Won’t take up much space, honest? Grin

Kernobhead · 10/06/2019 22:02

Last time we had a skip we filled it right up as soon as we got it, to stop our neighbours dumping stuff. That night someone came round and took 90% of it out. Couldn’t find enough other rubbish of our own to fill it with so ended up inviting our neighbours to use it!

No one really had anything to chuck so it got collected a few days later, practically empty. The collecting guy looked puzzled as he took it away...

AlexaAmbidextra · 10/06/2019 22:17

My old kitchen went into it today so it’s pretty full already. Just want enough room to dump the new kitchen packaging tomorrow. As long as nobody dumps a sofa on top so the tip company refuse it as it’s overfilled. What a carry on. Who knew this could be so stressful? 🙄

RedCrayons. By all means but come quickly before some bugger fills it to the brim. 😂

I remember the council placing community skips and they'd be full in minutes! Just put them in village centres and fill them up!

userxx · 10/06/2019 22:40

I had skip divers rooting through mine everyday! Vans actually stopping outside my drive, cheeky fuckers.

Chune · 10/06/2019 22:45

We had one a few months ago. I was so annoyed to look out one morning and see a scruffy old kids ride on toy in it.

None of our close neighbours have small children, didn't know who had dumped it so I Let It Go, and tried not to dwell on it. Well, the day before the skip was due to be picked up, the toy disappeared again- result!

Except for two days later, when the skip was gone and the bloody thing was deposited on our now empty drive Angry. Had to take it to the sodding tip.

DontCallMeShitley · 10/06/2019 22:52

Wait for the broken bicycle to appear. Then wait for bits to be stripped from it. Then there will be old window frames. And bags of old food wrappers. It is traditional to have those.

AlexaAmbidextra · 11/06/2019 15:03

Well, I’m amazed. Nothing added overnight. We’ll see what tonight brings. 😄
