Small boy trouser help please

DS is going to school in September and I bought him some school trousers in age 4-5 from ASDA but they are both too long and too big on the waist.
Does anyone know of any black trousers which don't have flies or have enough elastication to bypass flies that are longer than normal. Age 3-4 always end up being ankle swingers on him even if the next size are too long.

Thanks :)

Hi KindergartenKop,

M&S does a longer length trouser. Could you get that in a 3-4 size?

Anyone else found any good trousers for new starters?

Hope he settles in well, OP. Too long in the leg is at least better than two wide in the waist! My DS had his drop to the floor in the playground once, poor thing!

M and S are fantastic for school uniform.

I have a tiny DS as well hes 7 now but still tiny (only 16kg weight) tiny waist but average-maybe a bit short in length for the legs we always buy m&s skinny leg trousers (they dont look skin fit on him but they dont look really baggy either like normal fit trousers) they have pull in elasticated waists and in the smaller sizes they are just pull on pull off and no fly.
Theres 20% off atm as well ive been and got my uniform for this year, i seen they also had super skinny legs this year and ones with longer length legs.
The ones i bought are skinny leg jeans with a let down hem on them which gives an extra 3cm that u can let down during the year if u need to

Yup! M&S slim fit skinny trousers fit my beanpole. Give up on super market trousers!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 11/06/2019 18:08

Have they got the internal button/elastic system round the waist? If so you can tighten them. Asda also do age 3-4, as do Matalan.

Also, it's three months away so he will likely grow plenty over summer.

Sirzy · 11/06/2019 18:10

But for the slim fit skinny leg ones I wokld order sooner rather than later because they can be quite hard to find. I ordered some more for ds last week and got the last 4 pairs online in his size and colour

melissasummerfield · 11/06/2019 18:12

I also have a tall and skinny Grin and absolutely recommend M&S

The quality of the trousers compared to the supermarkets is significant for not much difference in price

Whenasuitcasejustwontdo · 11/06/2019 18:13

Sorry to derail but does anyone know of anywhere which sells smaller than m&s 3-4? I bought some for my son in the sale but I think he'll have another six months before they fit at the tightest setting.

We’ve always loved sainsburys who do age 3. Matalan is worth a look at too
