Dh and I will be traveling to Vancouver end of August/beginning of September, I am trying to get an idea of what the weather might be like that time of year. We may also travel down to Seattle for a few days too.

I don't want to get in wrong in terms of packing and google is has shown everything fro, heatwaves to freezing.

If anyone has advice I would be grateful

Layers will be your best option. Temperatures will average 18 degrees C in August to about 15 degrees C in September. Rainfall tends to pick up in September also. Can be windy but it can also be a slightly warm wind - hence the layers. You never really know what weather you'll end up with. Seattle is pretty similar. Beautiful part of the world but go prepared for multiple types of weather in a short space of time. Enjoy your trip.

I was in Vancouver a few years ago in September and it was glorious. Low 20s C every day, and not a spot of rain. However, it has the most changeable weather of any place I've ever visited, so pack layers and an umbrella. The other two times I've been there (March and May) it rained a lot.

Expect some rain, take a jumper and rain jacket.
Went to Vancouver island and it rained solidly, Vancouver itself was mild, Seattle was warm and sunny. All within days of each other (end of August)

I doubt if you'll get freezing at that time of year, temperature wise it'll probably be mild/pleasant, even warm if you're lucky. You do need to pack for potential rain though. We're in Calgary so a very different climate but we'll be touring and hiking on Vancouver Island for a week in early September and I'll be taking lots of layers, a light down jacket for cool, dry evenings and decent lightweight waterproofs.

We were there the middle of September a few years ago ,and it was 82 degrees

visitorthedog · 11/06/2019 06:29

Very similar to England, could be hot, cold or rainy all in one day!

Soontobe60 · 11/06/2019 06:32

Weather similar to the UK. Oh, and take plenty of money, it's not cheap!

Will definitely go,for layers, and my pac a mac.

I won't need anything dressy as we will probably just go for casual dining

I went yrs ago in late October and it rained every single day. It wasn’t cold just wet and foggy. As others have said layers and a raincoat!
