I just need to moan about thrush

I have the nastiest case of thrush at the moment. Obviously this is TMI and all that so I do apologise.

Constant itching, burning and general misery. I hate it so fucking much.

I've bought a pessary and cream combo thing (love shelling out £13 that I don't have to treat thrush) and have some natural yoghurt in the fridge Hmm Trying to avoid sugar but I bloody love the stuff.

Anything else I should be doing...? Or anyone want to share in the misery?

There's absolutely no chance of me getting to the GP until Thursday. It feels slightly better this morning, thank fuck. Still miserable though.

Thanks again for the replies.

Keep going and take the acidophilus, will help tremendously ime.

I used to get thrush every month after my period. It was a nightmare. I used to get 6 monthly supplies from the GP to keep me going. The only thing that solved it was having a hysterectomy. It only started after DD2 was born. XH was treated regularly, too. Horrid. I hope you feel better soon, OP.

You have an imbalance in your flora. To rebalance this, you have to stop feeding the candida bacteria. Cut out sugar. Go low carb for 6 weeks and see what a difference it makes. In that time, eat no grains, very small amounts of fruit, no yeast, alcohol or fermented foods.

But I love eating all of those things

You could try the probiotic route which might help as the good probiotics can crowd out the bad bacteria, might be worth a shot.

In theory, you should be able to rebalance your body flora and go back to eating normally so it should not be forever but the relief from thrush might be!

It is also worth considering what hormonal contraceptives you are on as this can also upset the vaginal flora. Evening primrose oil might help with that...

May be worth taking something like this: www.victoriahealth.com/product/Horopito-and-Aniseed/1440
